Citizen Review of the Day
Why is this your fav N.S. daytrippin spot? In my opinion, Cape Split is the most beautiful and sublime place in the province. The energy of the place is very fine, primal and sacred. It is a natural cathedral. How many times have you done this trip? I have gone there at least once each year for the past 30 years. What to bring? It involves a two hour hike both out and back, so bring some water, a snack, good footware, a camera. What is the best time of Year? The warm seasons. The path is muddy after a heavy rain, so avoid that. Where are you from? Musquodoboit Harbour, NS
Posted by: pshute on November 19, 2006 09:39AM I agree, Cape Split is a world class site, often wondered why it has never been made into a provincial park or included in the Cape Blomidon site. I've hiked there ever since the early 1970's and have had some amazing experiences. Posted by: CFA on April 30, 2007 04:34PM I also enjoy this little corner of paradise. The drive to and from is also wonderful, and it is easily accessable from Blomidon park as well. It is nice to see the little coffe shop is open again. Posted by: wirelessblueeyedvalleygirl on May 02, 2007 07:40PM My husband and I went hiking at Cape Split one July afternoon in 2005 and after an hour and a half, we arrived at the very tip of the crest where he got down on one knee and proposed to me. My engagement ring has an amythest stone and Cape Split is known for having several an amethyst cove surrounding it. That day was surely a memorable experience for both of us.
