Halifax Reviews
Well my ads keep getting deleted. Must be the landlords reporting them as offensive, I find it offensive that we pay the rent and they just paint over mold, ignore leaks and rotting wood, I find it offensive that they keep our damage deposit and we have to move incurring hook up fees & moving costs, come on people it is not cheap to move, maybe we should get a petition going to make the Tenancy Board enforce Clause 1 of the lease agreement - Conditions of Premises, pull out your lease agreement, read it, then go to HRM's web site & read By Law M100, minimum code standards. You cannot withhold your rent for any reason or you are in violation of the lease agreement , this the tenancy board enforces, pro landlord. But they do not enforce the terms & conditions, anti tenant. I do not think having leaking pipes, moldy bathrooms, rodents & bed bug infestations is up to code, as a matter of fact I know this, the tenancy board needs to enforce the lease agreement that protects the tenants from slumlords. maybe the media could help with this, I am not sure, but you have landlords living in million dollar homes and good tenants living in mold & unsafe premises, where is the justice.
